While the COVID pandemic feels more behind us than present (woohoo!) the protection we got from masking deserves a closer look.
Aura® was the latest pandemic-era addition to 3M®’s lineup of particulate respirators, designed to reach consumer audiences opposed to commercial channels. The Aura 9205+ is a NIOSH N95 with some notable features. I demo the first gen in my recently added video, which I hope you enjoy and welcome your comments!
Aura is designed for filtering airborne particles such as pollen, smoke and smog particles, airborne germs and dust. It’s soft, easy to put on and take off, has an adjustable metal nose clip that ensures a snug fit, and it’s good at reducing eyeglass fogging (read: it appears all masks fog eyeglasses, some more than others!) Overall, it’s a clean, lightweight and affordable masking option for nearly all particles across hundreds of applications.
I chose not to get too technical re: this general purpose mask because it’s not tailored to medical customers, such as hospitals. My consensus is that educated consumers now know what an N95 offers versus daily face masks, and the Aura is generally more available in consumer sales channels.
I look forward to your questions and comments and thanks for watching!
